I have just called the Doubletree San Jose and reserved my rooms for NEXT YEAR's Pantheacon. All the computers have done their little dances, and you--YES YOU--can reserve your room RIGHT NOW and have it be part of the Pantheacon room bloc.

Room rates are $93 for non-pool-view, $103 for pool view, per night, for one to four adults.

This is the main con hotel, the one that always sells out months and months before the convention. Do not delay--reserve yours TODAY!

The dates for next year's Pantheacon are 18-21 February, 2011. Be sure to mention that you're with the con for the special room rate when you call.

Call the hotel directly: (408) 453-4000.

Okay we had to flu, so I called today MARCH 4 and they said the Pcon rooms are all sold out! Could this be true? They also said there was no waiting list.

Ack! I'm so sorry--it's probably true, as someone replied to another copy of this post a little before you did and said they only had one-king-bed rooms left.

I suggest the following:

1) Try back with DTSJ every few weeks: there are always cancellations, especially when the con draws near.
2) Reserve with the overflow as soon as possible.
3) If your party is small (1-2 people), ask about room sharing in, say, January.

I'm sorry it didn't work for you...

Hi folks! Desperately seeking a D-Tree room for 2/18 and 19. If anyone has a spare that they are willing to offer me, I'll make them a cake on a theme of their own choosing. Those who know of my cakes know that they are not replicable in the Sara Lee aisle...:) See my journal for details.

I'm sorry--I had a spare until yesterday, when an old friend from out of town with mobility issues got it.

All I can say is: keep checking with the hotel for cancellations, and make sure to reserve a room at an overflow hotel!

Maybe, some year, we'll move to a place that can hold us. *sigh*

I have a spare queen bed available (2 queen beds in the room).

I won't be there much, and am a good housebroken roomie. Drop a note if you'd like.
